following reffers.
On February 22, 1773 (wrong date?), Washington’s dairy details
his purchase of a rifle from Aaron Ashbrook for £4 and 15 shillings.

this purchase of a gun was already made in 1757. Later that year, he had
it repaired by Joshua Baker, a gun-maker in Frederick County, Virginia,
who specialized in rifles. As Baker died in 1781 both dates could be correct
for that purchase of a gun by George Washington.
